deCordova exhibition

experiential, graphic design, signage

I designed the graphic identity for an exhibition titled What is the Nature of the Museum? at deCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. Working with curators, we selected materials that would align well with deCordova’s sustainability goals of limiting the exhibition’s environmental impact. Instead of using any PVC or plastic in the display boards, they were all printed on Falconboard, which is entirely made of paper, and is recyclable. For the few locations where we used cut lettering and graphics, we used a PVC-free vinyl alternative. Note: due to installation amid significant staff turnover at deCordova, all of the exhibition’s design elements shown in the drawings below couldn’t be installed in entirety.
